About Cathy Merritt
Birth is a time of discovery. If your're pregnant, you may have lots of questions. If you are healthy, happy, & without medical problems, home birth is a way for you to tailor your own "happy birth day." We will get to know each other as we monitor you and your baby's nutrition, health, & growth. The support of your family for a midwifery-attended home birth helps you! They are welcome at classes, prenatals and may borrow books to help you focus on the positive. Because you're more sensitive, you'll tune in to your body's emotions and signals for more food, rest, exercise, fresh air. Birth is part of family life and should fit in with your personality and lifestyle.
I am a facilitator of natural birth and an insurance policy in case of emergency. I bring insight and experience as a Texas Licensed Midwife, a NARM Certified Professional Midwife (CPM), a teacher, retired childbirth educator & La Leche League leader, consumer, mother and wife. My husband and I have 4 grown daughters nourished on mother's milk & born naturally without drugs (last 2 at home, first 2 at hospital).
